Afternoon Snack

This Afternoon Snack is filled with surprises both large and small, pleasant and unpleasant. Take that afternoon coffee in hand and buckle up.

The Lily was the first U.S. newspaper owned and published by a woman. Now it’s back, and there couldn’t have been a better time for it.

We’re big fans of Bitch Magazine and independent feminist publications in general, so hearing that Bustle has sniped the term “BHive” from Bitch is disheartening to say the least, especially when it spouts “exclusive inclusivity” and “confidential information gathering” in order to promote an advertiser’s agenda. Jeez, y’all. JEEZ.

The Babadook is the gay icon we all needed in these troubling times.

I love The Mummy and Evie Carnahan, don’t @ me

Kotono Mitsuishi was the voice of our most beloved Pretty Soldier, Sailor Moon, and now she is Wonder Woman in the Japanese dub and this is honestly the very best thing!!

There’s a lot of hate for Mass Effect: Andromeda out there, and while we at POME insist that only some of that is warranted (we are the few weirdos who enjoyed the game, despite it’s flaws), it looks like a lot of its pitfalls came from a VERY troubled development cycle. It could have been so good!!! We could have had it all!!!!! [weeps eternally]

Thanks, as always, for your time and your patience, my dear POMEs! We love bringing you these small snacks, and we’ll see y’all next week!
