Moon Podcast Power MAKE UP!! Episode 2: Listener’s Companion

Hello everybody. It’s your friendly neighborhood CC here with the listener’s companion to Moon Podcast Power MAKE UP!! Episode 2: Ten Hours of Ami Walking Through Tokyo. We’re gonna have some changes here on the listener’s companion blog. I seriously doubt that y’all need the exact minute and second we said a thing to figure out the context for these screenshots, so I’m going to nix the minute/second labels altogether. Stuff in this post is going to appear in chronological order, more or less, which will probably be easier on everybody. Also:  no more rating images. Sorry. It’s just too time consuming / pointless.

So, without further ado:  a super special blog post full of neat stuff:

Usagi's laptop

Subtle.

Usagi’s chubby friend from the original anime. She’s a little bit thicker / shorter than the other girls in the series. She shows up a lot in the original anime, but not the manga (thus far). Also, way to go, fandom.

What not to wear.

Sure pal.

This is a pretty good shot of the differences in the girls’ outfits. It’s so neat that this element from the manga shows up in Crystal! I’m pretty sure that all of the girls have at least one swank-ass accessory / fashion statement going on with their Sailor Senshi outfits, so keep your eyes peeled.

Just in case you didn’t get a good look at the Crystal Seminar flyer.

UGH

Segments

“Well, Actually…” notes:

Usagi kicking the Youma in the face instead of getting pasted to the wall by evil homework while everyone else does the work. I have a correction to address below about this part, as it seems that Tuxedo Mask is gliding Usagi into the Youma? I don’t even know. I thought he didn’t have super powers. Don’t lie, Mamoru!!!!

“Sailor Whoops” notes:

Poor Ami.

This one isn’t as bad but still.

Note: I only now realize that my moral for this episode is just a douchier version of my moral from the last one. I’m going to have to think of morals other than “X Magical Thing Lets You Do What You Want.” Oh well.

Corrections:

At the end of the episode, Ashley and I struggle to remember our social media profiles. We confirmed it for you: you can reach us on Twitter at @SailorPodcast and by email at moon podcast power at gmail (written out to avoid an armada of spambots).

Oh also you guys, we don’t get to see any reviews or ratings on iTunes until we receive five ratings / reviews/ etc. Do you love this podcast? Do you love us? Do you want to give me the best birthday present ever and give us some sweet reviews and validate our [read: my] fragile ego(s)?  (I am not really speaking for Ashley here, as she is a self-assured, majestic mythological warrior goddess, while in comparison, I’m more of one of those basic nymphs who turned into a tree to avoid Rando Apollo rather than just telling him to back the hell up. What I am saying is please review our podcast [positively????]). If you write us a review, I will personally craft a very beautiful Sailor Moon Says pinterest-y inspirational photo of whatever the hell text you want Photoshop-filtered to hell over a screenshot from the show, because that’s really all I have to offer you guys. Well, that, and a fulfilling and emotionally supportive friendship, but that one is a bit harder to whip up quickly. Help me help you, y’all.

Note: I told Rachel this wouldn’t be a pathetic grab for reviews, but as I’m reaching PBS pledge-drive levels of well-intentioned shamelessness here, I see where I have driven us off course. Please review our podcast though! Thank you!

I’m closing out this post with an adorable picture of Usagi and Ami.

See you next time, Sailor Guardians~~
