The Stay At Home Goth Style Guide

It’s been a wild ride of a year, and those of us lucky enough to have the opportunity to work from home might feel like fashion isn’t a top priority right now. That’s understandable given the state of the world. However, I’ve found that embracing my style while working from home has been a bright spot, even if it feels frivolous sometimes. So while this might not be a typical goth style guide, here are some ideas about how to channel your inner Elvira from the comfort and safety of home.

Zoom meeting “”glam”” – Friday Slip Dress, from Tuesday of California

Even though this is the most expensive item on this list, it’s also the most size-friendly (with fits ranging from XXS to 6X) and the most versatile one! Throw on your Doc Martens, accessorize with a black denim jacket over, and you’re ready for any web-meeting you have. Nothing says “professional, work-from-home Goth” like this easy, breezy, but still deliciously dark dress. Plus, it has pockets!!

Baseball tee – Goth Club President Unisex Shirt from Adorned by Chi

Maybe I’m a little biased because I own this shirt, but this adorable baseball tee is perfect for all your comfy, work-from-home needs! Pair it with leggings for maximum comfort, or jeans if you’re feeling particularly ambitious. It’s true to size fit and casual-cool style is nice to have around even if no one’s going to see it in person for a while. Never has reclaiming (or embracing) a Club President title looked more stylish.

Fuzzy socks – Heart Fuzzy Socks from Etsy in charcoal

If there’s one thing about successful work-from-home outfits that I’ve discovered over the last 5 or so months, it’s that keeping your feet warm is crucial! Fuzzy socks have become a lifesaver for me, comforting me as I make my daily commute from the couch to the dinner table and back again. That being said, this pair is not only cute but proves you can have some room for (literal and metaphorical) softness in any goth look. Treat yourself (and your feet), while maintaining that #aesthetic.

Sweatshirt – Pupcakes and Cupcats Metal Long Sleeve Tee

If you’re inside for most of the day, chances are things can get chilly (or maybe you’re just comfier in long-sleeved shirts), so why not invest in a solid black sweatshirt? This one even has a killer (but cute) metal logo to lock-in the goth aesthetic. Pair with sweatpants, PJ pants, heck, wear some shorts with it too if you want to even out the temperature regulation! The possibilities are endless with this staple.

Blanket – Creepshow VHS Throw Blanket from Creepy Company

Of course, no home office is complete without a solid throw blanket! Whether you need to bundle up or just want to feel cozy while killing those deadlines, it’s never a bad idea to have a solid blanket close by. This one even looks like a giant VHS cover for Creepshow and honestly, I can’t think of anything better to snuggle up with while knocking out my to-do list.

Working from home can feel monotonous, tiresome, and generally uneventful. Hopefully, some of these looks can help inspire you to switch things up, or dive into the dark side on your next Zoom meeting! Until then, stay safe and spooky readers.
