Afternoon Snack

Ready to quit February and march on in to March? Fortify yourself first with this Afternoon Snack!

Last Monday we found out that Colourpop was releasing a Sailor Moon makeup collection, and this Monday we discovered that it’s already sold out. Where is Queen Serenity’s justice for the eternally broke???

Other things broke millennials will never have include HOMES, so instead we’ll just waste our free time daydreaming on Zillow.

On the other hand, maybe we no-longer-quite-exactly-The-Youngs could hope to afford a home in the United States of America if they would stop putting so many goddang bathrooms in them! How many whiz palaces does a gal really need?

If you read nothing else from this week’s Snack, please consider this longread by Soraya Roberts on the pain of Oprah, and how one marginalized person’s larger than life success helps uphold an inherently unjust system. (Oprah definitely has way more whiz palaces than one gal really needs.)

Foodie hero Samin Nosrat (of Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat fame) was recently profiled in the New Yorker, and has a lot of refreshing things to say about eating well and eating responsibly, even when you fail.
