Sidekicked Issue #52 – What a Strange Casting Choice

Dr. Strange Clockwise from Top Left: Tilda Swinton, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Cumberbatch and Mads Mikkelsen Comic-Con 2016 Day 3 - July 23, 2016 – San Diego, CA Photograph by Matthias Clamer

Marvel Studios has gotten a lot of publicity in its casting choices for Dr. Strange, and a lot of it has ben pretty negative. Most controversial, Marvel has made the decision to change the gender and ethnicity of Dr. Strange’s mentor in this movie adaptation. In recent years, many other films have done this, such as Man of Steel and Dragonball: Evolution, so why is Marvel Studios receiving so much aggression? Sidekicked has brought on special guest Rhea-June to help us shed a little light on this larger problem.
