Throwback Thursday: February 2018

Welcome to Throwback Thursday: February 2018! From pastries to Potatum to patomon, POMEmag has published a lot of pretty great stuff these past few years. Let’s take a look back at some truly Quality Content from Februarys past.

February 2018:

Which Romantic Pastry Are You?

From the lovely and beloved Alejandra comes the perfect February quiz, combining beautiful pictures of sweet food with personality assessments that will make you feel great about yourself! I am a strawberry cream puff and I could not be happier.

Black (Super)Power

In honor of Black History Month and the release of Black Panther, Ashley brought us a fun and informative history of live-action Black heroes, as ranked by general dopeness.

February 2017:

The Lifespring Dodecagy

Last February marked our second annual Space Week, so how could I leave out this: my crowning achievement. Jupiter Ascending is the kind of movie that makes me believe in alternate universes, because when you watch it, you know that somewhere, out in the wide and ever-expanding universe, it is a very complex and lengthy book series that was poorly adapted to the screen. Here, I present that book series.

The Mothership

Space Week 2017 was SO GOOD! The Mothership is an autobio comic from the very talented Gillian Rhodes about when her mom got abducted by aliens! It’s a comic! about moms! and aliens! Literally what else could anyone possibly want?

A Lone Traveler From Earth

Also from last year’s Space Week: the BEAUTIFUL comic from GFOP (good friend of the pome) Ashley Franklin! It’s about FRIENDSHIP! and EXPLORATION! and FOUND FAMILY!

February 2016:

Children’s Discount Valentines That Almost Tried But Didn’t

It’s hard to strike the balance between Valentine’s Day (the sexy adult romance holiday) and Valentine’s Day (the least productive day of a child’s school year), but these card manufacturers could’ve at least tried. Our esteemed Head-Crone-In-Charge takes these lazy cards to task.

9 Super Spooky Podcasts To Listen To In The Dark

February isn’t all chocolates and romance — it’s also mid-winter! Smack between the solstice and the equinox, February is often the coldest time of the year. That makes it the perfect time for some SPOOPY podcasts! So, take this list (crafted by our resident podcast expert), build that pillow fort, and brace yourself for some non-weather-related chills.

Love Letter to Digimon

February 2016 was host to Love Letter Week, when we all sat down and showed our love for some of the things that matter most. Like Digimon. Digimon are important! and underrated! But don’t just take my word for it — listen to Jorge! He gets it.

We certainly hope you’ve enjoyed this trip down memory lane with us. Be sure to join us next month when we take a look back at whatever we were doing last March!

Pomegranate Magazine

POMEmag is the internet’s premier pastel, macabre feminist dork publication. Or at least, a very pastel, macabre feminist dork publication that is leaning into that identity pretty hard.
