We made it to May! Give yourself a pat on the back and treat yourself to a snack.

This is interesting: following May Day strikes by Amazon, Whole Foods, and Instacart workers (among others), Amazon VP Tim Bray resigned dramatically, writing a public blog post decrying Amazon’s working conditions and calling the company “chickenshit.”

“At the end of the day, the big problem isn’t the specifics of the Covid-19 response,” Bray said. “It’s that Amazon treats the humans in the warehouses as fungible units of pick-and-pack potential.”

In entertainment news, it looks like Taika Waititi has signed on to direct a new Star Wars. Here’s to hoping we still have movies, I guess!

For a little more timely gratification, we’re excited to hear that Hulu is planning to offer a WGA minimum blind pilot script deal to two Latinx-helmed projects through a partnership with The Black List.

And now, for this week’s wholesome Animal Crossing content: let’s all have a good healthy cry!
