Final girls — we love them, we look up to them, we are in awe of their power. Heck, my first piece at POME was all about them! They’re a lasting part of horror films for a reason! Who can forget Suzy Bannion, smiling victoriously in the rain at the end of Suspiria (1978), or Sally Hardesty, covered in blood and riding away from Leatherface, giddy with escape at the end of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1975)?
